what is a sliding scale piercing?
a sliding scale is a pricing structure that changes the price of service in accordance to the client's ability to pay. to put it more simply, it is a way we can offer piercings at a discounted price for those who are in need.
every month we will randomly pick one person from our submission form (you can find this below). the picked client has 48 hours to schedule their appointment before the slot is passed on to another applicant.
why do we offer sliding scale piercings?
we are proud to be the first piercing studio in South Australia to offer sliding scale piercings !! this is one of our many steps to strengthen the community and support surrounding piercings across the state. we believe everyone deserves access to our services, no matter their financial situation. we recognise that piercings can be a form of therapy and are a luxury to be able to afford and want to help those in need be able to have access to these luxuries as well. we strive to promote genuine understanding and support through our studio and could not think of a better way to show that.
the sliding scale rates
no piercing fee
25% off first downsize jewellery
free change overs for 6 months
for example you want a helix piercing with basic jewellery, the piercing fee is $40 and the jewellery is $20. you would be paying $20 rather than $60. you are then required to downsize your original bars which you will receive 25% off. after this you do not have to pay a fee to have us assist you in changing your jewellery for 6 months.
PLEASE NOTE industrial piercings are not eligible for sliding scale rates. it is also limited to a single piercing meaning any paired piercings are also not eligible.
you should consider submitting an application if you meet any of the following:
you struggle with mental health issues.
you identify as LGBTQ+.
you are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.
you are a person of colour.
you have a disability.
you are desperately struggling with money and support in your life and just need something to make you feel like yourself again.
you should consider paying full price if you meet any of the following:
you own your home or live at home rent free.
have savings, investments or inherited money you can rely on.
have access to family money and resources in your time(s) of need.
can afford to travel.
choose to work part time, rather than need to.
we are trusting your word entirely and wont ask any questions. please avoid taking from those in need.
